Sears’ philosophy of directing is dependent upon the theatrical environment she’s working in.

In an educational setting, Sears strives primarily to create a meaningful learning experience for everyone involved. Sears hopes to grant students space to explore their own identities, explore each other’s understandings, and explore the world’s workings through staging a story.

In a more professional setting, Sears strives to create a high-quality production exhibiting exceptional acting and innovative designs to present the most surprising, touching, hilarious, spectacular show possible. Throughout the entire artistic process, Sears prioritizes her hope that audience members will leave having been entertained and spurred to further thought.
